About Oyetu
Oyetu means "it is ours" in Oshiwambo, a local language in Namibia. The name reflects exactly what it is all about: building opportunities and ownership together. Oyetu supports artisans from remote villages by training them, connecting them, and providing access to the market.
How the products are made
All Oyetu products are crafted entirely by hand. Woodworkers, weavers, and makers work with locally available materials such as Kiaat wood, natural fibers, and cotton. Every basket, cutting board, or bracelet carries the character of its maker and the traces of traditional Namibian craftsmanship.
Social impact
Oyetu creates employment in communities where opportunities are scarce. Men and women receive training in crafts, entrepreneurship, and product development, allowing them to grow independently. Through fair wages and long-term partnerships, Oyetu offers a stable source of income and pride.
Environmental impact
Because Oyetu works exclusively with local raw materials, the ecological footprint remains small. Production happens naturally, without machines or large-scale processes. Materials are utilized efficiently, resulting in almost no waste and preserving traditional knowledge.
